Restoring the Art of Medicine.

Our mission is to bridge the widening gap in clinical excellence caused by digital over-saturation and rapid technological shifts. We aim to restore the essential clinical and communication skills often lost in a digital world.

Our Vision

To become a global leader in orthopedic innovation, delivering practical, patient-centered technologies that enhance clinical outcomes and reduce healthcare costs.

Procedural Mastery

Developing intuitive medical devices that augment, rather than replace, a practitioner’s procedural excellence.

Core Innovation

Joint Reduction Assistance Device (JRAD)

A mechanical assist device for shoulder dislocation joint reductions. Future offerings will expand to include management of elbow, wrist, hip, and ankle fracture/dislocations.

Clinical Justification

Failed reductions escalate healthcare costs through prolonged treatment timelines and resource utilization, including length of stay (LOS), sedation/anesthesia, and operating room usage.

The Leadership Team

Visionary clinicians and operational strategists reclaiming the art of medicine.

Jason S. Apfel, M.S., PA-C

CEO & CO-FOUNDER

"Dedicated to reclaiming the 'art of medicine' in an increasingly automated world."

As CEO and Co-founder of Dynamic Orthopedic Innovations LLC, Jason leverages over a decade of experience in orthopedic trauma and sports medicine to bridge a widening gap in clinical excellence caused by digital over-saturation and rapid technological shifts.

Throughout his tenure within multiple hospital systems and level 1 trauma centers, he identified a critical pain point: the erosion of foundational tactile clinical skills due to medical digitization and technological abundance.

To address this, Jason and DOI are developing advanced orthopedic technologies designed to augment procedural excellence and preserve core clinical competencies.

A committed leader and educator, Jason’s clinical tenure also includes serving as a lead orthopedic educator for the Creighton University PA Program, showcasing his commitment to both patient care and the professional development of future clinicians. He holds an M.S. in Physician Assistant Studies from Le Moyne College and an M.S. in Human Nutrition from Columbia University’s College of Physicians and Surgeons.

Paul Knott II, M.S., PA-C

COO & CO-FOUNDER

"Bridges the gap between complex surgical demands and operational efficiencies."

Paul Knott serves as the operational architect of Dynamic Orthopedic Innovations LLC, tasked with balancing the clinical orthopedic demands and institutional operational efficiencies required by our modern-day healthcare system. With over a decade of experience at Level 1 trauma centers, Paul acts as the steward of logic at the intersection of clinical excellence and hospital administration. His leadership extends beyond the trauma bay into the executive suite, where he collaborates within C-suite leadership groups to drive positive change and optimize orthopedic service lines.

At DOI, Paul leverages his background in Agribusiness from Arizona State University and his MS from Stony Brook University to lead the company’s operational strategy. This dual-perspective allows him to evaluate medical innovations through a lens of fiscal responsibility, ensuring DOI delivers cost-effective solutions in resource-constrained environments. His presence in the boardroom ensures that every innovation is rooted in the practical realities of hospital infrastructure and workflow optimization.

As COO, Paul spearheads the development of new medical technologies designed to streamline orthopedic workflows and efficiency. His approach is rooted in the belief that technology should augment the "art of medicine" to drive cost-effective, high-reliability care. He ensures DOI’s portfolio empowers frontline clinicians to perform essential procedures with confidence, precision, and financial pragmatism. Paul’s mission is to return high-utility procedural capability to the point of care, improving both provider autonomy and patient outcomes.
